MOD EXCLUSIVE: Painting of a Dream

Every so often, one wanders into a space that feels as though it has emerged from a dream. This project for a cherished new client is the perfect embodiment of that sentiment. Today, we present a first look at The Painting of a Dream wedding, a celebration where imagination took centre stage and a bygone era of femininity was reimagined through a contemporary lens. Soft jade, Marie Laurencin pink, and delicately embroidered silk formed the foundation of a design language rooted in romance, artistry, and timeless elegance.

Above, a ceiling of hand-cut crystal panels appeared to levitate like memories of young love suspended in time. Between them, countless crystals caught and mirrored the light, casting a soft radiance across the furnishings below. Each piece was meticulously crafted and suspended to create a sense of movement that echoed the fluidity of a dream, transforming the venue into an ethereal landscape of light, reflection, and wonder..

The furniture was equally significant. As Mohammad Alhouri, Co-Founder of MOD, explains, "We wanted to create something incredibly delicate, but also something that reminded guests of their own love stories." To achieve this, the MOD design team developed a pattern inspired by translucent cherry blossoms in spring, set against soft jade silk. The classical silhouettes of the chairs gently contrasted with the modernity of the tables and the painterly beauty of the florals, creating a dialogue between past and present. As one guest remarked, "There was a kind of magic in the air that was difficult to explain."

The collective beauty of the event was perhaps most evident in the restrained elegance of the kosha. Here, there was no excess, only a thoughtfully elevated space that created a fleeting pocket in time where everything seemed to stand still. Delicate oval forms in glass and metal, soft green hydrangeas, and a contemporary seat finished in the evening's signature hue reflected the central ethos of the design: that effortless elegance is the highest form of beauty.

Naturally, the glamour of the evening was elevated by performances from the legendary Ahlam Alshamsi, alongside Rashed Almajid and Oumaima Taleb, whose presence brought guests into a warm celebration of joy and wonder. Performing against MOD's delicately crafted Wall of Dreams, the renowned artists infused every design element with a special kind of living magic.
