Summer Is for Italy: The Wedding Style Guide

At MOD, there’s one request we never seem to stop receiving: “Can we do something like La Dolce Vita?” And who could blame them? There’s something timeless and irresistible about the charm of the Italian Riviera—sun-drenched landscapes, gentle textures, and that golden, cinematic mood. But when large-scale weddings and guests from across the globe make destination nuptials in Positano or Capri a challenge, we bring Italy to Dubai. In this guide, we share how to recreate the magic of Italy at home, featuring never-before-seen images from our La Dolce Vita wedding.

Delicate Details: Lamps on Earthen Pedestals

It begins with the light. Gentle lighting sets the tone for any celebration, and for our La Dolce Vita wedding, we chose delicate lamps placed on raw, earthy pedestals. Their amber glow added a sense of intimacy, transporting guests to a quiet piazza at dusk. These pieces evoke the subtle grandeur of old-world Italian interiors and pair beautifully with stone textures, rattan, or even ceramic accents—details that whisper elegance rather than shout it.| Explore La Dolce Vita

Lush Florals: Periwinkle Blues & Grape Leaves

The florals in this look aren’t about overwhelming volume—they’re about wild, graceful gestures. Inspired by hillside gardens and vineyard trails, we used periwinkle blue blooms, trailing grape leaves, and feathery wildflower foliage to create a dreamscape that feels both artful and organic. The asymmetry of the arrangements added a fresh looseness, as if they’d been gathered from a garden that morning, while the palette nodded to coastal skies and hand-painted ceramic tiles. |Explore The Film

Nostalgic Textures: Bouclé Meets Linen

One of the more subtle yet effective ways to infuse Italian character into a space is through textiles. In this design, we married contemporary fabrics like soft bouclé with classic materials like pure linen and woven cotton. The tactile mix was evocative of slow summers in the countryside—fresh sheets drying in the breeze, crisp cotton dresses, and the softness of a well-loved armchair. These layers of texture ground the space and offer both comfort and charm. | Explore Behind The Scenes on Instagram

Vintage Furniture: Mahogany & Warmth

Italy’s allure lies as much in its warmth as its glamour. We leaned into that sense of welcoming familiarity with vintage-style furniture—mahogany woods, robust columns, and generously cushioned sofas in wholesome, rounded silhouettes. There’s a generosity in this kind of design, a sense of permanence and heritage that contrasts beautifully with more ephemeral modern styles. Each piece in the space told a story, as though it had been passed down or stumbled upon in a family villa | Dubai-based luxury furniture rental firm GRM offers a rarefied selectiom of items. Italian design has a way of feeling both luxurious and lived-in. That’s what we bring to Dubai—a mood, a memory, a kind of magic that never goes out of style."

Ceiling Details: Drapes and Dreamscapes

To evoke the feeling of a summer evening under a pergola or a canopy of stars, we gave special attention to the ceiling. Sheer, transparent drapes floated above the dining tables like clouds, catching the golden light, while in some areas, clouds of white gypso created a whimsical yet luxurious overhead installation. These ceiling treatments helped shape the vertical space, giving the illusion of openness and a dreamlike romance without taking away from the grandeur.

Creating the magic of Italy in Dubai is about more than mimicry—it’s about evoking emotion. Through the careful curation of materials, mood, and memory, a wedding can feel like a journey, even if no one boards a plane. At MOD, La Dolce Vita is more than a theme—it’s a way of bringing warmth, elegance, and soul into every design. Whether you’re imagining the cobbled streets of Florence or the lemon-scented breeze of Amalfi, we’re here to reimagine it for you, right at home.
