In a time when true love, is rare as the purest gold,We envision this day to be, a celebration of its inimitable beauty’. These are the lines that opened the design proposal for MOD’s newest project The Day the Sky Turned Gold.

Taking place last night at Dubai World Trade Centre, this captivating design began as most MOD projects often do, with a single element. In this instance, that element was gold. Gold, in its purest form, is supremely rare, and as many a savvy investor knows, it often appreciates with time. This became the starting point for the design: the idea that one of the world's most enduring and precious elements could also serve as a metaphor for true love.. .

The Renderings

The design process always evolves from inception to final execution. Much like raw metal transformed into delicate jewellery, the journey is long, meticulous, and complex. MOD designers work around the clock to refine colours, create custom furniture, test lighting, source florals, and perfect every detail before presenting a series of images for client review.

The Day the Sky Turned Gold evolved gradually, transitioning from its earliest concepts into the completed design unveiled last night. Here, we are delighted to share a first look at some behind-the-scenes imagery, showcasing a ceiling installation as intricate as it was ambitious.

Hundreds of thousands of intertwining soft-gold metallic stems and crystal weave across the ceiling, creating a sight that is both captivating and awe-inspiring. Suspended above the guests, the installation transforms the ballroom into a shimmering landscape of light, texture, and movement.

The Details

As guests entered the ballroom, they found themselves immersed in a world awash with warmth, radiance, and light. Above them, a breathtaking canopy of intertwined rose-gold stems and hand carved crystal stretched across the ceiling, transforming the venue into a shimmering landscape where every glance revealed a new detail. The installation appeared almost alive, catching and reflecting light from every angle, creating the illusion of a sky suspended in enchanted rose gold.

Beneath this remarkable ceiling, carefully curated furnishings, custom finishes, and layers of floral artistry came together to create an environment that felt both grand and intimate. Every detail was designed to support the central narrative: a celebration of a love so rare and precious that it could only be compared to one of the world's most coveted elements. For MOD Founder and Creative Director Mohammad, the project was never simply about the colour gold itself.

"Gold has fascinated humanity for thousands of years because of its rarity, beauty, and enduring value. We wanted to explore the idea that true love shares those same qualities. In a world where so much is fleeting, there is something extraordinary about finding a connection that grows more valuable with time. This project was our attempt to translate that feeling into a physical space.
